Q: Do you have a cure for chronic halitosis?
A: Halitosis (bad breath) can be caused by a number of factors, most often by “gum” or periodontal disease. There are also a number of medical conditions that on rare occasions can cause halitosis. If we determine that gum disease is the cause of a patient’s halitosis, we can treat it with the laser or other periodontal techniques if necessary, and provide instruction on proper oral hygiene techniques. We also want to rule out any systemic illnesses that can contribute to this problem. If necessary, we work with other medical specialists to cure this problem.
